CAMSHAFT, ROAD 83, LARGE JOURNAL, NEW

  • SKU: TT10504N

Triumph 4-cylinder 1296/1500cc

Road 83 - This is a very good stage 1 camshaft for a road car running 1.50” SU carburettors. The camshaft peaks at 4750 rpm and can produce up to 96 bhp when combined with a free flow exhaust, K&N air filter, modified cylinder head and Weber/Dellorto carburettor on a very wide power band and with a good idle. Weber/Dellorto carbs will only increase power at the top of the rev range. For a road car, you'll not really need them therefore. See below for more info.

Meaning of Journal Diameter

  • Small for engines with replaceable bearing fitted to cylinder block, originally fitted to twin carb engines, 1147-1286cc pre 1969.
  • Large for all other models, where cam runs in cylinder block. Bearings can always be removed for this range to be used on early models.
